Hall of Fame
McDonald was a four-year letterwinner at point guard for the McPherson College men's basketball program. It has been a decade since his last game in a Bulldog uniform and he still holds program records for steals in a single game (7; vs. Saint Mary, Dec. 6, 2003) and assists in a career (432). Also a prolific scorer, McDonald ranks eighth on the program's all-time scoring with 1,393 points in 117 games.
A native of Houston, Texas, McDonald earned all-KCAC honorable mention honors in each of final three seasons as a Bulldog. He averaged 11.8 points and 3.0 assists per game as a senior, finishing third on the team in scoring and ranking eighth in the KCAC in assists. Despite the fact almost every play McPherson ran went through him, he averaged less than two turnovers per game. His 59 steals and average of 2.1 per game both ranked third in the league.
Led by McDonald and teammate Brian Hooks, the Bulldogs posted 39 victories over their final two seasons - the best back-to-back seasons in school history to that point - and only topped since during McPherson's run of four-straight national tournament appearances (2010-2013).
McDonald lives in San Antonio, Texas, with wife Naomi and daughters Gabrielle and Royce. He has been a claims adjuster for USAA since 2012.
